Important Notes:

1.        Subject to availability of seats, Admission will be made by the College upto 06th August, 2010.  The Last date of Admission is Friday, the 06th August, 2010.
2.        No student whose name appears in the Admission List (or who qualifies on the basis of the percentage indicated in the list) shall be denied admission provided he/she pays the fees by the stipulated date and time.
3.        Conversion of vacant OBC Seats by the College ::  Monday, the 16th August, 2010.
4.        The Late Date for Admission with Condonation of Delay (Admissions done between 07th August, 2010 and 31st August, 2010) by the Vice-Chancellor ::  31st August, 2010.


ONLINE ADMISSIONS
(2010-2011)

The College Prospectus is available w.e.f. 28th May, 2010 on payment of Rs 120/-.  The Application Forms duly filled in and signed may be submitted in the College on all working days excluding Sundays from 28th May, 2010 To 11th June, 2010 between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, as per Delhi University norms. 

Students can access the online Admission Facility by logging on to the college portal at www.svc.ac.in.  Applications must be submitted online.  The Application Fee has be paid through Pay Order/Demand Draft issued by any Nationalized/Scheduled Bank drawn in favour of "The Principal, Sri Venkateswara College, New Delhi" to be submitted along with the Preliminary Application Form.  Please note the steps for submission of the application:  

  • The Pre Admission Form is to be filled in and submitted online.  An online receipt will automatically be generated. 
  • On show of a printout of the receipt, a copy of the College Prospectus may be collected from the College.  It means the form have to be filled in online and a hard copy of the same needs to be submitted to be college between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM on all working days as per schedule.

NOTICE :

The online automatic generated Pre-Admission Receipt is to be submitted along with manual Pre-Admission Form (attached with the College Prospectus) duly filled in and signed to the concerned official.  Online submission of Pre-Admission form is mandatory to update the admission process.

ADMISSIONS :: 2010-2011

"There is no minimum age bar for admission to Under-Graduate Courses and Post-Graduate Courses in the University/Colleges except in Professional Courses where regulatory body prescribed minimum age requirement (such as MCI, AICTE etc.)" vide university letter number Aca.I/Age-Relax./2009/T.R. No. 774 dated 29th/30th January, 2009 received from the Registrar, University of Delhi.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

It has been noticed that a large number of students face difficulty in getting their Photographs and other Documents attested for submission to the College.  To avoid this difficulty, the University/College has decided to accept the Self-Attested copies of Documents/Papers provided by the students as per university circular number Aca.I/2006-07/TR No 226 dated 1st/4th May, 2007 received from the Registrar, University of Delhi.

It is made clear that if any false Attestation/Falsified records are detected, the student will be debarred from attending any Course in the College for next Five Years and in addition, a criminal case under relevant section of IPC (viz. 470, 471, 474 IPC etc.) will be instituted against him/her, to subject him/her to the requisite criminal proceeding as per university rules.



POST-GRADUATE ADMISSIONS 2010-2011

The Committees of Deans of the Faculties appointed by the Vice-Chancellor, University of Delhi, to streamline the Admission Process has recommended as follows for the Post-Graduate Courses, vide university letter number DSW/13/2008/860 dated 27th February, 2008:-

1.        Where Admission is made through an Entrance Test, there should be Entrance Test conducted by the Department and one another test for admission to the School of Open Learning, wherever applicable.

2.        On the basis of the Entrance Test, separate list should be prepared for the General and the Reserved Categories.  Candidates should be required to clearly indicate in the Application Form whether they wish to apply for the General Category or for the Reserved Categories.  The Department will display the Merit List for the General as well as reserved categories and fill the sanctioned seats strictly according to merit.

3.        Out of the Merit List, the Department will allocate colleges to the candidates on Merit-Cum-Preference basis.

4.        While filling up the forms, candidates would be required to indicate their preference for colleges for the desired Post-Graduate Course.  Colleges shall be required to grant admission to the allotted candidates. In case, a candidate does not take admission in the college allotted to him or her, the resultant vacant seat will be filled from the Waiting List.

5.        If a candidate taking admission in any Post-Graduate or LLB Course had already been a student of an Institution under University of Delhi, but had migrated thereafter and is now reverting to the University, he or she shall be required to indicate his or her previous Enrolment Number, and the same shall stand revived.  There shall be no separate procedure to revive his or her old Enrolment Number.


ADMISSIONS :: 2010-2011

Sri Venkateswara College is not the centre for receiving the Delhi University Pre-Admission Forms for admission to the various Under-Graduate Courses available in the college for the academic year 2010-2011.

The Candidates are advised to submit Delhi University Pre-Admission Form duly filled in and signed at the respective Admission Information Centres, as notified by the University of Delhi, including University of Delhi South Campus, New Delhi, for further necessary action.

GRADE CONVERSION
(As per AC Resolution No. 319 dated 22nd March, 1976)

Formula/Equation of the Grade Point Average awarded in Cambridge School Certificate/Malayalan/Overseas/African GCE/ Examination School Certificate Examination and /Or 12th Grade Examination of the American Embassy School, New Delhi with the percentage of Marks as are awarded in the Higher Secondary Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Examination, New Delhi, for the purpose of Admission to different Courses in the University.

The above Grade conversion formula is still valid in the University and its Colleges.  There is no change till date.  The admission giving authority may calculate according to this conversion table.
Further,

"As regards the IB Examinations, the recommendation which was made by the Equivalence Committee in its meeting held on 11th July, 2005 e.g. that the admission of students schooling from IBO be regulated on the basis of the production of document, by the student, issued by the Organization detailing precise equivalency from the Grades/Ranges and a transcript of result should also stand good for admission of students with IB qualifications was approved by the Committee.  As for other foreign examinations the onus for producing the conversion of grades/credits into the percentage of marks/average marks from the foreign board to which such school is affiliated or duly authenticated by such Board should be on the admission seeker.  In case, however, there is some delay in obtaining this kind of document, as an interim measure, the conversion formula issued by the respective Embassy/High Commission be accepted and the student may be admitted provisionally on its basis.  Such admissions should only be confirmed after the conversion formula issued by the respective Embassies/High Commissions is corroborated by the respective boards."

It was further informed that on the basis of the "Mean" definition its resultant percentage range 90-100 should be 95.  If possible, the admission seeker may be asked to produce percentage conversion from the University as issued in other parts of South Asia.
